The utter delight Rai felt dispersing within him was well masked by a meek smile. Of late Rai found himself rather less confident than he had been before he set out, and now he was ashamed to discover he could barely look Goku in the eye;

"Rai Zanshin" he replied toward the ground "thanks...thank you...so much for your help err …hope to see you around…"

His eyes flicked to Goku's face, then nervously rebounded off in all directions.

As he was pulled haphazardly to his feet Rai was hit by a flurry of information. He watched the little figure picking up scattered items finding it increasingly difficult to hide his overwhelming sentiment. The emotions themselves were hard to discern from each other as he found it hard to tell whether he was more grateful to hear his search was nearly at an end or to discover someone whose eyes didn't constantly question his haggard appearance and who seemed to treat him with an equal...

He wasn't quite sure what was wrong with the man, he seemed to be having trouble keeping his balance. Being the innocent that he was, Goku was unaware of the powers of drink, though on more than one occasion he had come across someone in the Happy Monk in a similar state, and wondered perhaps if he had been there earlier on in the day. Stumbling backward Rai concentrated his efforts on maintaining an upright position; he felt the ache of fatigue clinging to his joints and muscles like a stodgy residue hindering his movement. He knew that if he fell he'd loose the battle; he doubted his body would allow the further abuse of righting itself once it found such a restful horizontal position. It was coming into Autumn now, the cherry blossoms had fallen like fresh-fallen snow and now a cold wind was now making its way from the cold mountains in the north down through the plains and valleys below, and thus through Erion City also. Fashions in shops had changed with the seasons, darker colours and reds and golds had come back in once more and the need for fur to wrap oneself up in became more of a necessity.

On entering Erion city, introverted and mildly afraid, Rai Zanshin found his only consolation in his internal monologue; the steady narration behind his 3 year journey. Shyly he regarded the onlookers passing by, whilst leaning heavily against a wall. He saw in particular their regarding him, and the thorough look of condemnation they seemed to gain as the eyes slid half heartedly over his shabby facade.
