Time to Rest |

Kiyoshi didn't even need to open his eyes to know where he was, as he woke the smell that assaulted his nose told him that he was in the healer's
quarters. He remembered the battle royale, and how badly the other fighters had beaten him, he was no doubt in the long term recovery area. He tried now to
fall back asleep, but something was dragging his mind back to consciousness and refused to let him slip back. His left eye flickered open, his right eye was
covered with a soft pad, his left arm was bound in plaster, as were both of his legs. They were all suspended above the bed, by rope attached to the ceiling.
Breathing deeply he felt the restrictive bandages around his chest and stomach, it seemed there wasn't a lot of him that wasn't wrapped in bandages of
some description. In fact, with his one eye open, he peered down, and found that he only appeared to be wearing a white pair of shorts. His throat was sore,
and his vision still slightly blurry, he could see anyone else in the room, but that didn't mean they weren't there. "He.... (cough) Hello (cough,
cough) Is... is anyone there... does anyone know how long I... have been out? (cough, cough, cough)" He blinked several times, trying to clear the blurry
vision from his one good eye, but the dull lighting in this room was not helping him. He laid back and waited for an answer.

Brother Isador |
Isador had only just entered the room when the patient tried to speak.
"Hey there, take it easy. Your body is still in poor shape after whatever happened last week." Isador took a glass of water next to the bed and assisted Kiyoshi in drinking it, luckily it seemed to all go into his mouth rather than down his face. "How are you feeling?" |
Kiyoshi |
The water stung as it went down his throat, he hadn't realised how thirsty he really was until he started drinking, "I was once thrown from my horse,
and fell off a cliff, that was about half as bad as this." Kiyoshi tried to laugh, but mostly coughed, "Tell me, how bad is it, how long will I be
here?"

Elorwin |
Elorwin was dragged from the blissful depths of unconsciousness by someone calling out weakly and coughing. Elorwin opened her eyes and found she was staring at an unfamiliar ceiling. Moving she tried to sit up and found two very important things. For one her body was bound in bandages which didn't allow for much movement also even her slight movement invoked a large amount of pain. Elorwin could not help a small whimper escape her; shutting her eyes again she panted softly trying to breathe through the pain. Once it had passed Elorwin tried again opening her eyes she slowly turned her head to the side. Blinking several times Elorwin saw two beds down was Kiyoshi. He looked in a terrible state, covered from head to toe in bandages. She wondered what state she must look like, bad judging on how she felt. He was also talking to a man beside his bed who appeared to be a healer. She felt very dizzy and disorientated, and ready to fall back sleep. Elorwin shuddered in pain but called out weakly. "Kiyoshi … are you … alright?" |
Kiyoshi |
His heart froze as he heard her, she sounded so weak, so in pain. Elorwin was in the same room as he was, she must have been sleeping until he called out. He
turned his head to face her, just about the most he could move. She didn't look good. Her right arm and leg were bound entirely, as was the upper arm on
her left side. She was wearing shorts that matched his own, and he thought to himself that they must belong to the healers office. Her chest and stomach were
completely wrapped in bandages, and most troubling was the bandage that encircled her head, starting just above her eyes, Kiyoshi could see a nasty red stain
soaking through it, just above her temple.
"Elorwin-san, I can honestly say that I have has better days, but I will get better." He said, coughing slightly, his voice still low and lacking it's normal joyous tones. "You look about as good as I do, which I have to say, isn't great." He stopped speaking for a moment and broke into a long coughing fit. He covered his mouth with his right arm, and was shocked to find specks of crimson in his hand when he stopped. "Do you know how long it has been since we were brought in?" |
Brother Isador |
"I thought i told you to take it easy." Isador scolded Kiyoshi, pressing him against the bed, "Now rest, you two can talk when I judge
you're fit enough. As for you ma'am" Isador said, turning to Elorwin, "I have to say i'm suprised to see you conscious already, with your
injuries i thought you'd be out for another week." Isador went to the cupboard and took out a mixture, pouring it into two glasses and placing one by
each person. He lifted Kiyoshi's head and forced it down his throat, then did the same for Elorwin. "That should ease the pain and aid the healing
process, now I demand you both get some rest, if i have to put you in seperate rooms to ensure it then i will."
Isador smiled down at his patients, he didn't like to be so strict but injuries this severe had to be treated as such. "I promise, you can chat when you're well enough, but if you keep moving and talking then you'll just enlong that process." |

Elorwin |

Elorwin smiled painfully, it was good to hear his voice, she couldn't get the image of him beaten and bloody out of her head. The healer continued to scold them both for waking and talking but all Elorwin could do was smile painfully, she was just so happy Kiyoshi was alive. After Elorwin had been forced to swallow the vile concoction that was allegedly to reduce pain she lay back down onto the soft pillow to keep the healer happy. In truth she could have just fallen straight back into sleep instead she forced herself to remain conscious although her eyes closed. Soon the healer left the room. Elorwin opened pain filled lilac eyes but she was determined. Using her good arm Elorwin pushed herself up from the pillow she pausing every few seconds to pant in pain. When she finally managed to get herself sitting upright her chest was on fire with agony. If one thing could be said of Elorwin it was that she was stubborn, so swinging her legs around she pushed herself out of bed. Wobbling slightly Elorwin smiled at least her legs still worked although she was extremely dizzy the room was spinning around her. Using the beds for support Elorwin made her way over to the bed Kiyoshi was resting in. Taking his bandaged hand delicately she brushed her fingers lightly over his. Leaning forward Elorwin placed a light, delicate kiss on Kiyoshi's forehead. Gasping in pain her words were breathy and filled with agony. "I'm really sorry Kiyoshi for what happened to you… I never … I never meant for things to go as far as they did." Two small silver tears escaped her eyes and dripped down onto Kiyoshi. Standing upright Elorwin felt exhausted the room span around her and she could hardly breathe for pain. Using the beds again Elorwin started to make her way back to her bed. However she was now happy, she had said what needed to be said. To say sorry to Kiyoshi was worth it she felt. |

The healer scolded Elorwin and him for talking, but he didn't really care. He was then forced to drink a foul smelling, and equally bad tasting medicine.
He closed his eyes, and decided to wait for this healer to leave. He heard the door closing, and then Elorwin was panting with pain. He opened his eyes, and
looked over to see her pulling herself out of bed, and limping towards him. She apologised to him, and kissed him on the forehead, and was crying. His heart
shattered into a thousand pieces, and tears started to fall from his own eyes. "Elorwin-san, this wasn't your fault. I went to the battle royale, I
expected to fight the best Erion City had to offer, and now I know... a little too well, but oh well. Any way, if either of us should apologise to the other,
it should be I. That was a cheap shot, paralysing you like that, I am really sorry I did that to you." He coughed for a moment, Elorwin turned and started
limping back towards her own bed. "You really need to get back into bed quickly, as nice as that was, we both really need to rest, the healer would have a
fit if he knew you were up, and I much prefer having you in the same room, if I am meant to spend a couple of weeks looking at the ceiling."

Tomaius Hadedonu |
Tomaius made his way along a corridor in the Healer's Quarters. He remained in his soul state as his body remained uninhabitable for the time being. It
had been placed in a special ward and some healers were attending to it at that very moment. He passed a few more healers along the corridor and overheard
some of them speaking about Elorwin and Kiyoshi, and how they had both regained conciousness. Feeling so relieved, Tomaius quickened his pace as he proceeded
to Elorwin's ward.
He turned and entered Elorwin's ward and to his amazement she was out of bed and walking, although not very well. Her determination made her strong, although she was wavering as she walked. "Elorwin," Tomaius moved forward and placed his arms lightly on her shoulders, attempting to offer his support. "I am so glad you have regained conciousness. It has been almost a week already. I'm so happy you're alright." He could feel his eyes watering, but he tried to contain it. He picked her up and carried her to her bed. He lay her down on her bed and kissed her on the forehead. He looked around at the same ward he had done so for the last week. He noticed Kiyoshi on a nearby bed, his eyes open and signs of life returned to him. "Good day, Kiyoshi," he smiled. "I hope you are feeling ok, minus the obvious injuries." He turned back to Elorwin. "The healers said that you would be out for at least another week. You are such a strong willed person, and I am so thankful that you are." He lent forward and kissed her on the forehead once again. He could not tell properly, but he thought he saw her smile. |

Zack Martin |
"Well isn't this a jolly little reunion." Zack said as he entered the room "Sooo, how are we feeling? All obvious answers aside." He
looked at the three of them with a huge grin on his face, feeling slightly out of place amongst all the emotion
"If you're lucky, I might actually try. If you're stupid, you'll stick around to see it." -Zack Martin-

Brother Isador |
A loud sigh came from behind Zack as Isador entered the room again.
"I believe I told you both to stay still." He said, a slighter sterner edge to his voice this time. "By all means talk, just don't move so much or you'll just open up those old wounds." He indicated to Elorwin whose bandages had started to turn red. "That's going to need stitching all over again meaning you'll be in here even longer, I'm not trying to be the bad guy here, I just want you both to heal as fast as possible." He turned to Zack and Tomaius and gave them a small bow. "Once again thank you both, if you hadn't found these two out in the woods chances are they would have died." Isadaor had turned towards the patients again, not seeing the glance between Zack and Tomaius. |

Elorwin |
Elorwin smiled happy as she saw Tomaius and felt him hold her, in truth she had really needed it her strength was waning fast. He picked her up into his arms and carried her over to the bed. Laying her down gently Elorwin sighed softly with happiness as he placed a gentle kiss on her forehead. In his presence all pain was temporarily forgotten, all she saw was his eyes and loving smile. This was soon forgotten as at that moment Zack walked in. Elorwin let out a small noise of distress at seeing him. She could not forget the killing look in his eyes nor forget the threat he had issued at her to Tomaius. Fidgeting on the bed she tried to move as far away from him as possible, pulling slightly on Tomaius so he would stand between her and Zack. It was then that the healer came back in. He looked at Elorwin, sighed and began to tell her off in a harsher voice than before. Looking down Elorwin saw he was right; she had managed to reopen most of her wounds, the red blood seeping through the white bandages. She felt dizzy and really sleepy once again although she could not relax with Zack around. Moaning with pain Elorwin felt weak as she shut her eyes, trying to ignore her pain. |
Kiyoshi |
Kiyoshi winced in pain. He had been unconscious for a week, if Tomaius told the truth, and he had no reason to lie. Clearly the fight had taken more of a toll
then anything that he had previously suffered. He looked over at Elorwin to see her horrified look as Zack entered the room. He glanced down at her bandages,
and saw the damp red stains growing on them. He let out a whimper of his own, but was halted from calling out by a coughing fit, that sapped his energy. He lay
back breathing heavily when the coughing finally subsided, a faint gurgling barely audible behind the breathing. "I am feeling... awake... which isn't
currently... amazingly... pleasant. Maybe... you... could stay... outside for the moment... Zack..."

Tomaius Hadedonu |
Tomaius felt himself be pulled by Elorwin. He was confused as to why at first, until he looked over his shoulder and noticed Zack in the doorway. Zack had
been extremely rude towards her during the battle royale, to the point of threatening to injure her because of Tomaius' actions. Tomaius' level of
respect towards Zack had wavered slightly, but as Zack was his commanding officer, he could not allow his emotions to interfere.
Turning back towards Elorwin, he noticed that her wounds had begun to open again, seeing the crimson blood staining the pure white bandages she wore upon her. He turned towards the healer, seeking assistance from him. "Please......healer," Tomaius had not yet discovered the healer's identity, although this was not the right situation to ask for it. "Please, her wounds have opened again. She needs help before they become any worse." Tomaius clenched his fist. If only his body was healed enough. Then he could use his Quincy Jutsus in order to at least remove some of the damage caused to her, and Kiyoshi too while he was at it. Although as he thought about it, Akkarin was unable to do anything, and his healing capabilites far surpassed his own. He decided there and then that his next arc of training must be devoted to his healing capabilities, and to become a qualified battle medic. When he masters these abilities, he would have the potential to protect and heal his fellow comrades, which is something he very much desired. The healer approached and began to focus his attention upon her wounds. Tomaius moved back up to Elorwin's head. She was panting slightly, her eyes firmly shut as she struggled to maintain her silence. He lent forward and kissed her on the cheek. Through her pain, he thought he caught the glimpse of a smile. Running his fingers through her hair, he began to stroke her head, as in other conditions this usually calmed her down. |

Brother Isador |
Isador had lost his smile, people's health wasn't a joke.
"Right, that is enough!" He said sharply, he turned his attention to the visitors and pointed towards the door, not hiding behind subtlety. "You are both exasapating the patient's wounds, they are drained, straining themselves, and this woman is most certainly distressed, so I am not asking, I am telling you both to leave. now." He quickly went to his cupboard and pulled out more of his bottles, mixing a few of the liquids and taking them over to Elorwin. "I'm afraid you're going to have to drink this now," he said, his voice having lost most of, but not all of it's edge." it's going to clot your blood to stop anymore escaping the wounds, I won't lie, it's going to hurt, but the sleeping mix should take effect before the pain gets too bad." Isador had purposefuly positioned himself between Elorwin and the visitors giving her no chance to say goodbye, this could not be put off, but he had now turned towards Kiyoshi. "And you sir, I had assumed you to be a decent man, or at least have some common sense about you to know that when i ask you both to rest, you know it's for both of your health, and you still risk not only yours but this woman's here." |
Elorwin |
Elorwin was startled by the unmasked anger in the voice of the healer, whining with displeasure as Tomaius' comforting hands were taken away from her. Panting harder still Elorwin fought to control the pain that raced through her. Elorwin listened as the healer prepared some new probably fouler concoction to be forced down her throat. When he explained how this would cause her even greater pain Elorwin nearly laughed, how could she be in any more pain that she was at the moment. Then she felt his hands gently but firmly forcing her to swallow the medicine he had made to clot her blood. For a few moments she lay still on the pillow trying to fight for air. Suddenly the pain ripped through her causing her to almost scream out in agony. Her blood was on fire, liquid fire was running around her body. Her face contorted as waves of anguish tumbled over her. Panting erratically, tears of pain slipped out from beneath her closed eyelids. The pain did not seem to wane at all after all the minutes she had suffered, why hadn't the sleeping drug worked yet. Elorwin screamed out yet again. "Tomaius!" All she wanted was him, to help her get through this, to help her ride out this misery. But she was alone with the tortuous pain with no option it seemed but to wait it out. |
Kiyoshi |
The Healer turned to him, and was quite rude about him, and his attitude. He was really not enjoying this healers bedside manner. Elorwin was forced to drink
another no doubt foul tasting concoction apparently mixed to clot the blood and knock her out. Except it appeared to merely be causing her more pain, she was
screaming, but the sleeping potion was not working. Tears sprang to his face, could the potion not be strong enough to work on Elorwin. What if the fact that
she was a hanyo meant the potion wasn't working. He found himself unable to talk, his throat was still raw from his most recent coughing fit, all he could
do was whimper.

Cery |
Cery was walking down the corridor of the healer's quarters, he'd just taken a small boy there who'd been 'playing with matches', or at
least that was what the healers thought, he he passed a door he heard a scream and froze. He knew that voice. Turning and looking through the open door he
could see that bitch from a few weeks ago, screaming, obviously in pain, and for a brief moment their eyes met. Hers full of pain suffering and horror, and
his, his had just gained a gleam and his mouth curled into a smirk, he turned and carried on walking, clicking his fingers for effect as he did, but nothing
happened, not yet. But now he knew where she was, knew she was vulnerable, and knew she was going to suffer beyond ever her wildest imagination.
Kiyoshi |
Kiyoshi was so focussed on shutting out the sound of Elorwin screaming that he nearly missed the barely audible sound of the person in the corridor. Desperate
for something to distract him from the horror unfolding in the room, he turned to face the door. A man was stood in the door, a wicked gleam in his eye and
smirk on his face, clearly enjoying Elorwin's suffering. He walked away, the grin apparently permanently plastered to his mouth. His vision was reduced
from the pad still covering one eye, but his one good eye very quickly enlarged. It was the same man that had been blowing up parts of the slums a couple of
weeks before the battle royale broke out. Someone like that was rather memorable, even if he had only seen the guy for several seconds. He whimpered again, and
gestured weakly towards the door, looking round to see that, quite obviously the rest of the room was focused on Elorwin's screaming.
Tomaius Hadedonu |
Tomaius had been removed from the healer's quarters, abruptly and annoyingly so. It pained him to leave Elorwin behind in such a state, but what choice
did he have. As he made his way out of the front door to the complex, he heard a heart-crushing scream from Elorwin's ward. The noise was unbareable, but
he was forbidden to return to comfort her. Feeling an emotional pain in his chest, he proceeded around the side of the building and entered the gardens. He
decided to go and walk around the healing quarters gardens, still hearing the screaming of Elorwin in her bed.
As he made his way around the gardens, he found Wolf laying beside a window. This was the window to Elorwin's ward, but it was unfortunately closed. He approached Wolf and patted him on the head. Tomaius could not tell what Wolf was saying or thinking as well as Elorwin could, but he was sure they were both thinking roughly the same thing. Tomaius extended his hand once again and patted Wolf. "She'll be ok, Wolf," Tomaius tried to smile, but was unsure of how it emerged. "She is with the healers now. She will be better in no time. We must wait now. It is up to her how quickly she recovers." Tomaius sat down in the grass beside Wolf and then proceeded to lay down beside the window. He looked in through the window and saw that Elorwin was in pain. He watched as she writhed on her bed, the healer seemed to not be in sight. He felt so helpless. The best he could do for her now was to look after Wolf until she recovered. |
Elorwin |
Was there no end to her pain and misery? Elorwin screamed out yet again as the drug in her system continued to cause her pain. She was surrounded by pain, suffocated by it; all her senses knew was pain. For a few seconds it calmed down allowing Elorwin to concentrate on panting raggedly, trying to muster herself for the second wave. All too soon in crashed down upon her, she felt on fire, every limb searing with white hot pain. Elorwin's eyes flew open in anguish staring blindly beyond the door to her ward. Suddenly a man walked to the door and stopped, obvious drawn by her screaming. Even through her pain Elorwin recognised him immediately and her eyes widened further in fear. It was the man from the slums who had tried to hurt her for information. He saw her, she saw him and for a second their eyes locked. His took on a very sinister shine that scared her to the core. She was very much weak and venerable, for once she needed someone to protect her, but it seemed for now she was alone. Then their eye contact broke and he continued walking. The pain was dulling now and Elorwin felt so weary. Slumping back onto the pillow Elorwin felt every limb become leaden, as her breathing eased down from her panting; slowly she was sucked further and further into sleep. Elorwin closed her eyes; her sluggish heart beat the last thing she heard as she lay limply on the bed. |
