"Nii-chan!"
The scream rang around the room Lightning insisted on sharing with Earth, a high, panicked sound echoing around and waking the boy, his white blonde hair clinging to his cheeks in damp strands. Another nightmare. They weren't a rare occurrence; in fact, almost every time he slept for a prolonged period they caught him, creeping up unawares. It was why he hated sleeping, hated and avoided it as often as he possibly could. Sitting up the night was fun. There were always things to do, all night long, things which weren't sleeping. He would have avoided it today, if he hadn't been so tired. They had been busy - doing things they habitually did - fun things, things he enjoyed very much while he was awake but couldn't bear the memory of while he was asleep. He wouldn't have gone to sleep, if he hadn't been so exhausted. Fortunately, he and Earth shared a room - Lightning's insistence. He couldn't be alone, ever.
He crawled from his tumbled bed, shaking and whimpering, and put himself into Earth's bed, pleading for his brother to wake up as he clung to him. "Nii-chan..."
