Zack walked up to the office, knocking three times on the door before turning back to look at Kaoru. He couldn't help but chuckle at her curiosity, she
seemed to examine pretty much everything about the place. At a call from the other side of the door, Zack entered, beckoning for Kaoru to follow.
"Akkarin," He said, closing the door behind the pair. "My friend here has somewhat of an interesting tale." After that, he leant against
the door, watching Kaoru expectantly.
"If you're lucky, I might actually try. If you're stupid, you'll stick around to see it." -Zack Martin-

The girl, having walked among grown men training for war with an evaluative eye, through the rooms full of weapons designed to butcher one's own kind with
an unimpressed expression, had not looked the least bit intimidated until she stepped into that room. She eyed Akkarin timidly, glanced back at Zack, then
fidgeted with her hands for a bit. Finally, after several long moments, she asked, "Please don't freak, okay?"

Akkarin looked up from his papers at the knock, frowning a little. He hadn't been expecting any visitors. "Come in!" He called, placing the
papers away as Zack entered, followed by a little girl. After Zack's mention of an interesting pale, he turned his attention onto the child, regarding her
curiously. "Freak? About what?"
'He's like fire, and ice, and rage.
He's like the night and the storm and the heart of the sun. He's ancient and forever. He burns at the centre of time and he can see the turn of the universe.' -Akkarin- |

"Well ..." She scuffed at the floor with her foot. "I'm not from around here ... at all ... A mage brought me here through a portal and I
really wanna go back home, but I can't go through the mage that brought me here ..."
Akkarin |
Raising both hands, Akkarin shook his head. "Slow down, start from the beggining. You were brought here by a mage, through a portal. Where are you from
and what is your name?"
As he was asking this, his mind was racing. Who would want to steal a child from their home, especially through such means. "And why exactly am I supposed to 'freak'?" 'He's like fire, and ice, and rage.
He's like the night and the storm and the heart of the sun. He's ancient and forever. He burns at the centre of time and he can see the turn of the universe.' -Akkarin- |

The child scuffed her foot against the floor again. "Well ... my name's Kaoru ... Sakurazuka Kaoru ... And the mage ... Well ..." She scrunched
her face up to give herself a mental push, took a deep breath and went for broke. "The portal spell summons a super strong demon from another plane,"
she rushed quickly, "and that's how I got here."

Akkarin |

Akkarin's eyebrows rose at this, as he prepared his magic, just in case. "Is that so? Then that means you're not wearing a limiter...
correct?" Akkarin glanced over to Zack whose eyes were wider than his, he saw his friend place a hand on the hilt of his blade as he covered the door.
'He's like fire, and ice, and rage.
He's like the night and the storm and the heart of the sun. He's ancient and forever. He burns at the centre of time and he can see the turn of the universe.' -Akkarin- |

Sakurazuka Kaoru |

But the innocent child just blinked in complete confusion as her next question probably wasn't one they wanted to hear. "What's a limiter?"
Akkarin |
Akkarin sighed softly, instantly sealing the room aroud them as he studied Kaoru closely. A demon without a limiter, the yokai in Erioun would be
uncontrollable right now, but the little girl standing in front of him seemed no different than a human. By all accounts he should be arresting her, but the
circumstances were difficult. "Kaoru, unfortunately you place me in a difficult position. A limiter is something the yokai in Erion wear to subdue their
powers and their bloodlust, without it they become uncontrollable killing machines. Because of this, the law states that any yokai not wearing a limiter must
be arrested immediately." At this point Akkarin glanced to the windows in his office, blanking them out from intruding eyes. "But it's not so
simple for you. You were taken forcibly from your home, which if I understand correctly, is another plane of existance entirely. You're not here by choice,
you're not creating a rampage, and you're doing nothing but try to get home. Being the kind of man I am, I want to help you. Do you see my difficulty
at the moment?"
'He's like fire, and ice, and rage.
He's like the night and the storm and the heart of the sun. He's ancient and forever. He burns at the centre of time and he can see the turn of the universe.' -Akkarin- |
Sakurazuka Kaoru |
But the girl actually looked cheerful. "Uh-huh! But you don't have to worry, Mr. Akkarin! I don't know what a Yokai is, so I'm pretty sure
I'm not one!"
Akkarin |
Akkarin gave another sigh, "Who else knows you're a demon Kaoru?"
'He's like fire, and ice, and rage.
He's like the night and the storm and the heart of the sun. He's ancient and forever. He burns at the centre of time and he can see the turn of the universe.' -Akkarin- |

Sakurazuka Kaoru |

The child pointed back at Zack. "Well, and the mage that summoned me, of course."
Akkarin |
Akkarin gave a nod, smiling very faintly. "Good, you must keep it that way or people will panic and you will never get home, you understand?"
'He's like fire, and ice, and rage.
He's like the night and the storm and the heart of the sun. He's ancient and forever. He burns at the centre of time and he can see the turn of the universe.' -Akkarin- |
Sakurazuka Kaoru |
Kaoru nodded quickly in understanding, but then looked worried. "I don't have to wear one of those limiter things, do I? I don't like the idea of
somebody else saying how strong I'm allowed to be when I've earned it, myself."
Akkarin |
Akkarin regarded Kaoru with curisoity, running a hand though his hair before asking. "Just how strong are you?" At this he looked to Zack who merely
shrugged in respsone.
'He's like fire, and ice, and rage.
He's like the night and the storm and the heart of the sun. He's ancient and forever. He burns at the centre of time and he can see the turn of the universe.' -Akkarin- |
Sakurazuka Kaoru |
Again, the child pointed at Zack, but this time, it was to answer, "I'm stronger than him. Faster, too."
Akkarin |
Akkarin could see Zack's eyes raise in disbelief and he looked back to Kaoru. "Is this proven fact, or are you merely speculating on what you've
sensed about him?"
'He's like fire, and ice, and rage.
He's like the night and the storm and the heart of the sun. He's ancient and forever. He burns at the centre of time and he can see the turn of the universe.' -Akkarin- |
Sakurazuka Kaoru |
"Mostly what I pick up from him," the child confirmed. "Don't get me wrong, I think he's pretty strong for a human, but still ..."
Akkarin |
Akkarin chuckled softly, but his gaze remeind as sharp as ever. 'There's defeinitely a strength to this one, she might even be right, she might far
outclass Zack, but better to test it than not....'
"I think at some point the two of you will need to have this fight, first of all we need to gauge how strong you are, and secondly..." Akkarin smirked across at Zack, "I think Zack's worried about his pride." Returning his attention to Kaoru he leant back in his chair, the mug on his desk rising up to him. "While that's happening, I'll have to see what I can do about sending you home. Planar summonings in themselves are major magic and should not really be attempted at all, but sending something back to where it was summoned, without knowing exactly where it was? Such a thing has never been attempted." 'He's like fire, and ice, and rage.
He's like the night and the storm and the heart of the sun. He's ancient and forever. He burns at the centre of time and he can see the turn of the universe.' -Akkarin- |
Sakurazuka Kaoru |
"Oh, I know exactly where I was," Kaoru answered eagerly. "I was just heading into Outer City because somebody had told me they had seen a
kimono that was just perfect for me!"
Akkarin |
"That's not quite what I meant." Akkarin replied, an amused smile starting to form on his lips. "What I mean is we don't know what
plane, or even if we did, where on that plane."
'He's like fire, and ice, and rage.
He's like the night and the storm and the heart of the sun. He's ancient and forever. He burns at the centre of time and he can see the turn of the universe.' -Akkarin- |
