But she just stared in confusion again at that. "What do you mean, you don't know what plane? I figured it'd be kinda obvious ..."

Akkarin |

|
Akkarin arched a brow at the girl in front of him, his head tilting slightly. "Is that so? Tell me, how much do you know of the planes, or planar
travel?"
'He's like fire, and ice, and rage.
He's like the night and the storm and the heart of the sun. He's ancient and forever. He burns at the centre of time and he can see the turn of the universe.' -Akkarin- |

The child flushed in immediate embarrassment, realizing the point of the question. "Um ... not much about moving between them at all ..."
|
|||
Akkarin |
|||
|
"Exactly," Akkarin continued, smiling a little, "Until now I myself had only read theories on the subject, as for how many planes that exist, or
where specific places in those planes are, I had never even begun to consider those kind of things." Sighing again as a book from his wall floated over to
him, landing open at a section near the end. "This is the only unclassified book on the subject, and that's only a chapter long. The rest are
contained somewhere secret, and can only be accessed with special permission. I might be able to get them but I need to know what I'm looking for
first."
'He's like fire, and ice, and rage.
He's like the night and the storm and the heart of the sun. He's ancient and forever. He burns at the centre of time and he can see the turn of the universe.' -Akkarin- |

The child nodded in understanding, then dropped her head as she fiddled with the hem of her kimono sleeve. "I suppose there isn't a lot of call for
gates to Yomi, huh?" she asked dejectedly.
|
|||
Akkarin |
|||
|
Akkarin brought his head up, looking to Kaoru, "Yomi? Is that your plane?"
'He's like fire, and ice, and rage.

Her head came back up to look back in the mage's face. "Where did you think demons came from?"
|
|||
Akkarin |
|||
|
Akkarin gave a shrug, giving one of his rare clueless looks. "It's not a field I'd researched, but Yomi could have been a city, a continenet,
anything. But now I know it's a plane, and I might be able to get a little closer to an answer with that."
'He's like fire, and ice, and rage.
He's like the night and the storm and the heart of the sun. He's ancient and forever. He burns at the centre of time and he can see the turn of the universe.' -Akkarin- |

But Kaoru just frowned, an annoyed look typical on a child who thought an adult wasn't taking a matter seriously enough. "Yomi isn't just any
plane. It's the name you humans use for the realm of the dead. Just how little research have you done outside your walls?"
|
|||
Akkarin |
|||
|
Akkarin blinked, looking blank for a moment before chuckling. "Yes, of course. All this talk of planes I didn't think to connect it to a human
term." He suddenly stopped chuckling and began watching Kaoru carefully. "Wait, you're telling me you reside in the realm of the dead?" He
asked cautiously.
'He's like fire, and ice, and rage.
He's like the night and the storm and the heart of the sun. He's ancient and forever. He burns at the centre of time and he can see the turn of the universe.' -Akkarin- |

Sakurazuka Kaoru |

|
"Again," Kaoru repeated, returning his careful gaze with a flat one of her own, "where did you think demons came from?"
|
|||
Akkarin |
|||
|
"Again, I had no idea. But I never would have suspected they resided from the dead, or prehaps they -are- the dead?" Akkarin asked, a curious edge
coming into his expression
'He's like fire, and ice, and rage.

"Nope, we're not the dead," she answered back as she crossed her hands behind her head. "We help take care of them, though. The ones that
come our way, anyway. They live pretty much as they did here, usually fishing or growing crops or making crafts, whatever they choose to apply themselves at.
We still form the bulk of major industries, though. Kinda because we were there first. And there aren't any humans in the military. With a few rare
exceptions, they're just not strong enough, and the exceptions were because they fought so much in life, and they typically grew kind of tired of it and
weren't interested in doing it for another lifetime."

Akkarin |
|||
|
Akkarin stroked his chin thoughtfully, frowning a little. "I'm not an expect, but I expect a lot of rules have just been broken with you revealing
that information. The living shouldn't know what happens to the dead." Giving a soft sigh, he glanced between his two visitors. "I'm going to
need to research this, for now, why don't you two find out how strong each other is? It will give us an indication of... quite a few things."
'He's like fire, and ice, and rage.
He's like the night and the storm and the heart of the sun. He's ancient and forever. He burns at the centre of time and he can see the turn of the universe.' -Akkarin- |

But the child only shrugged at his suggestion of violations. "More rules were broken when I got yanked over here in the first place. Besides, your own
mythos say similar things, so it's not really a big concern."
Kaoru's eyes lit up at the suggestion of them testing their strength and she wheeled about on her guide, grabbed his arm and tugged on it like a child just being told they were going to a toy store. "Oh, can we? Can we? It'd be so much fun! Where will we do it?" |

Zack couldn't help but give an amused chuckle at Kaoru's sudden enthusiasm. He had been lost throughout most of the conversation, only really
understanding that Kaoru didn't have a limiter, and was supposedly very powerful. In truth she might be more powerful than him, but it was a might,
he'd fought many demons before.
"Well, if we're going to be doing a test, I suggest using the barracks' arena rather than something public, we don't want too many people watching us now, do we?" "If you're lucky, I might actually try. If you're stupid, you'll stick around to see it." -Zack Martin-
