Once all was silent, the announcer shouted out, "Behold, the next match! They may be both from the beginner's tier, but that doesn't mean the fight won't be good! On the left, she's just a little girl with a wooden sword, but she's been unstoppable ever since she first showed up! We don't know where she came from and we don't care! You love her, you want to hug the stuffing out of her and you want to see her beat the next big, bad adult into the ground! It's Kaoru!"
The child let out a sigh of annoyance at the speech. She hated most everything about it, but she understood it was the announcer's job to get the crowd riled up. The truth was irrelevant. Relativity was all that mattered. They could relate to a cute kid. A demon captain from another plane was a bit harder to get behind. Instead of dwelling on it further, she readjusted her kimono and skipped on out into the sight of the crowds, hopping and waving enthusiastically. Yoshimitsu liked it when she acted cute because the people would bet more. If it got her fights so she could move up and get more money, that was fine by her, and she enjoyed it, anyway.
Next, the announcer would call out her opponent, and when she beat him, her next fight could finally be against Hapless Han and she would be out of this third-rate children's dog and pony show.
