The 10 Great Lords
These Lords and Ladies are the descendents of those first ten noblemen selected for their honour, trustworthiness and utmost-respect bestowed upon them by the
Empress. Though many generations have passed, most of these nobles are still direct descendents from the original ten - and thereby are given one of the most
highest ranking positions in the country. They are able to take council with the leader of the Kingdom, discuss political matters, and even simply dine with
him, should the Emperor so desire. These nobles are to be given the utmost respect, as their bloodline has been individually picked by the divine royal itself.
The Grand Advisor
Similarly in rank to the Great Lords is the position of the Grand Advisor. This is a very serious and important role to whomever it is graced upon, and should
not be taken lightly. Their position requires them to be aware of everything that is going on in the kingdom, through the means and words of the High Lords, as
well as keeping in touch and in good means with the Great Lords also. They must take it upon themselves to consider pressing Kingdom and International-wide
matters concerning all significant areas. Often they share the position of Supreme Commander of the Army, or are on very good terms with them, so as to always
be aware of any important matters and movements which is occurring. All of which they are required to bring up at Advisory meetings and Councils between the
Great Lords and the Emperor.
The High Lords:
The High Lords take on the role of Ministers for various aspects throughout the kingdom. These heads of Departments focus on matters varying from Finance and
Culture to Health and Safety and City Planning. These positions are almost always taken up by noblemen of some nature - more often than not a younger sibling
of a Great Lord can be found in a position as High Lord one way or another. These Lords are expected to be fairly competent in their position, as they're
required to show expertise in their particular field. They are required to send a monthly report to the Grand Adviser to be looked over for any curious
anomalies or important details of which they must be informed of. Most High Lords are expected to be on good terms with each other - however, there are often
cases of rivalries occurring between departments.
Aide to the Grand Advisor:
With all the reports pouring in from all the different departments, the Grand Advisor clearly cannot keep on top of everything. Hence, the position of the Aide
to the Grand Advisor. Generally a very thankless job, it often requires many hours and few days holiday, as every file is expected to be looked over, the
important paperwork - to be sent to the Advisor - separated from the usual, general reports of everything going well. More often then not, letters and requests
are put in to the Aide when High Lords are aware of the busy schedule of the Grand Advisor. Alas, sometimes this does mean that the Aide is found to be
begrudged against when matters and dealings turn sour due to a lack of enthusiasm on the Aide's part. However it is an important job, as it leaves the
Grand Advisor time to deal with far more serious and important matters involving the Kingdom.
The Underlings/Civil Servants :
Made up of minor nobles, rich merchant's children and post-university graduates, these workers are the unnamed hundreds required to busy themselves in the
Palace offices and corridors. Regardless of where they are positioned, they are expected to show upmost respect to all their superiors through one way or
another. Usually there is little chance for promotion, but those lucky enough to end in a department with an aged/ill High Lord are likely to perhaps be thrust
into the position unexpectedly. These workers are expected to stay together as a team, and often this leads to rivalries being created between the Departments,
though also, in drastic times when budgets are tight, these workers are known to bond together, and try and assist each department where they can. Without
these workers the workings within the Palace would most likely fail.
