But, in the rush of work and baby-plans, Fei had very little time for visiting. She regretted not getting the chance to see her younger brother during Winter Solstice. She sent him several marvelous gifts and promised to make time to see him soon, but work kept piling up. It was only when a messenger from the Akamastu residence with a note from her brother. It was written in the actor's usual cheerful fashion and requested she come visit him at the Akamatsu estate as soon as was possible.
She had no other appointments set up and her paperwork had been filed early, to allow her to leave early and rest up now that she was showing in earnest. She could relax just as well with her brother as she did at home, she reasoned, Shin's place wasn't very far.
With her mind made up, Fei informed Sohma and her husband that she intended to visit her brother and would be home they were. There was little objection, though Rou insisted she take the carriage and have it wait for her. It wasn't far, but he wanted her safe. She more than understood that and kissed him sweetly before setting off on her visit.
After a short ride, a stop at a nearby bakery for sweets to bring along and a moment or two to inform the household staff of who she was and the nature of her visit, Fei Lin found herself standing in the front room of the home her brother was presently staying in. It was a little strange to meet him here and not in the home he shared with Minekura. But Akako would explain she was sure.
"Aka-chan?" she called, stepping out of her shoes and leaving them by the door. Smiling thoughtfully as she straightened herself out, she placed a hand over her belly and looked around the room while she awaited her brother's reply. Laughing, she spoked quietly to herself. "... probably planning some dramatic entrance if I know my brother at all."
